December is over, the office has put the decorations away, and someone has had the good idea of getting everyone together before spring. That is the winter party. A company party in the middle of winter, often set in January or February, when Paris venues finally breathe again. The trap is falling back on the rented room with a standing cocktail, when winter is better suited to venues with a real atmosphere or that get teams moving. We kept 7 checked venues, from a shooting bar to a winter chalet, with the capacities and prices shown on their sites.

Winter party, why winter changes the choice of venue

Three things set a winter party apart from a classic end-of-year party.

  • The calendar works for you. In January and February, venues are far more available than in December. You pick your date instead of taking what is left.
  • The cold rules out part of the offer. Open rooftops and unheated terraces are off the list. You need a covered, heated venue that keeps its soul once the coats are off.
  • Energy is lower. After the holidays, teams are less keen to stand around a buffet. A venue with something to do revives the evening far better than a DJ at 8 pm.

Our detailed selection

PAN Bar Paris, the winter party where the team plays before drinks

PAN Bar Paris, at 6 rue de Paradis in the 10th, is a one-of-a-kind shooting bar in Paris. You book a booth, two guns and a tablet to launch a dozen in-house games and order food and drinks, with cocktails and chef-made sharing plates. For a winter party, three published packages. One or several booths for 2 to 66 people from 16 euros per person, a team building package from 36 euros per person with a drink, sharing plates and a group photo, and full privatization of the venue from 30 people, up to 150, with a dedicated host and the option of projecting a presentation. Closed on Mondays, games open from age 16 and bar for adults only.

Who it is for, teams of 30 to 150 people who want a real group night indoors, where departments mix in the booths instead of staying among themselves. It is our first choice when the goal is to rebuild ties after the holidays. Less suited if you dream of a seated dinner served at the table or a dance floor until dawn.

Bomb Squad Paris, the action game that warms everyone up

Bomb Squad Paris, on boulevard de Sébastopol in the 3rd, is an action game. Teams of 2 to 6 players have one hour to get through physical and brain challenges and defuse a paint bomb. Teams start every 10 minutes, so up to 60 participants can play over a two-hour slot while the others enjoy the reception area and its themed bar, available for private hire with a walking dinner or a custom buffet. Pricing is degressive, from 45 euros per player for two down to 28 euros for six.

Who it is for, teams of up to 60 people who want to move and laugh before the cocktail. In January, when everyone arrives numb with cold, it is the most effective format to kick off the evening. Not made for a dance party, rather for the first part of the night, followed by dinner elsewhere or on site.

Winter Chalet at Kimpton St Honoré, mountain spirit on the Grands Boulevards

Kimpton St Honoré, at 27-29 boulevard des Capucines in the 2nd, turns its patio into a chalet every winter. A covered, heated 60 m² space available for cocktails, intimate dinners or private parties, with mountain classics revisited California style.

Who it is for, small teams, a leadership committee or a client evening that wants the winter setting without leaving central Paris. At 60 m², it is not the place for a large team.

La Péniche, a night on the Seine without the cold

La Péniche can be fully privatized on quai de la Tournelle, facing Notre-Dame, and can moor elsewhere depending on port availability. Two customizable levels, 50 to 250 guests depending on the layout, a lower deck with large bay windows, wooden floor and equipped DJ area, and above all a covered deck designed to host guests in every season.

Who it is for, companies of 50 to 250 people who want a dance party with Paris lit up in the background. Plan the cloakroom and boarding time, and check the chosen quay before sending the invitation.

Le Privé, the vaulted cellar to dance all night

Le Privé, at 2 rue des Anglais in the 5th, is a reception venue set in a speakeasy-style vaulted cellar, between boulevard Saint-Germain and the river. 30 to 90 people for a walking dinner and up to 150 for a dance party, with a bar, a ventilated smoking room and a cloakroom. It can be hired every day, until 6 am.

Who it is for, a team that wants a real party, warm and out of sight. It is a venue to decorate and run yourself or with a supplier, there is no built-in activity.

Le Marilyn, the Oberkampf dance bar

Le Marilyn, at 122 rue Oberkampf in the 11th, is a cocktail and dance bar. You can book the whole bar for up to 120 people, or only the cellar for 40 to 60 people. Open Tuesday to Saturday, closed on Mondays.

Who it is for, a team of 40 to 120 people who want to end the evening dancing in a nightlife district, without paying for a full event venue.

Cirque d’Hiver Bouglione, for very large groups

The Cirque d’Hiver Bouglione can be privatized in full or in part for groups of 100 to 1,500 people, with partner caterers able to serve a cocktail for 1,000 or a seated dinner for 400. Convention, gala evening, show, everything is built on quote.

Who it is for, companies gathering several hundred employees who want a venue whose name already makes half the theme. Out of budget and off topic for a team of 50.

What this ranking will not tell you

Let us be honest about the limits. Most reception venues work on quotes, only PAN Bar Paris and Bomb Squad Paris publish per-person prices, so the budget comparison remains partial. Announced capacities are maximums, often for a standing cocktail, and a seated dinner cuts them significantly. Finally, no venue ticks every box. Activity venues keep the group busy but do not make people dance until dawn, cellars and barges make people dance but do not engage a team that does not know each other. Many companies combine both, an activity early in the evening, a dance party afterwards.

Event agencies and venue booking platforms save time when you compare several places on the same date. They do not replace a visit, especially in winter, when heating, cloakroom and public transport access change the guest experience.

What makes a winter party work

  1. A covered and properly heated venue. Ask for the real temperature of the side areas, not only the main room.
  2. A cloakroom that fits. In winter, 100 guests means 100 coats. Without a cloakroom, the entrance becomes a bottleneck.
  3. Something to do in the first hour. Activity, game, entertainment, that is what breaks up department groups.
  4. Easy public transport access. The cold and nightfall at 5 pm discourage complicated journeys.
  5. The right day. A Tuesday or Wednesday in January is far easier to negotiate than a Thursday.

Frequently asked questions

Where to throw a winter party in Paris?
It mostly depends on group size and on what you want to happen. For an evening where the team plays before raising a glass, PAN Bar Paris, a shooting bar in the 10th, can be fully privatized for 30 to 150 people. For a mountain vibe in a small group, the Winter Chalet at Kimpton St Honoré offers a covered, heated 60 m² patio in the 2nd. To dance, Le Privé in the 5th takes up to 150 people for a dance party, and La Péniche hosts 50 to 250 guests on the Seine. For several hundred people, the Cirque d’Hiver Bouglione welcomes 100 to 1,500 guests.
What is a corporate winter party?
It is a company party held in the middle of winter, most often between early January and late February. It replaces or complements the end-of-year party, with a winter theme or simply the wish to bring teams together after the holidays. Its big advantage is that Paris venues are far more available than in December, which gives you a choice of dates and room to negotiate.
What is an original venue for a winter party in Paris?
The formats that stand out in winter are the ones that keep the group busy. A shooting bar like PAN Bar Paris, with its booths and guns, or an action game like Bomb Squad Paris, where teams of 2 to 6 take turns while the others enjoy the bar, turn a standing evening into a real group night. For the setting, a heated barge or a winter chalet in a covered patio play the atmosphere card.
What budget for a winter party in Paris?
Published prices start at 28 to 45 euros per player at Bomb Squad Paris depending on team size, and at 36 euros per person for the PAN Bar Paris team building package, with a drink and sharing plates included. Large reception venues such as La Péniche, Le Privé or the Cirque d’Hiver work on quotes. For a full evening with catering, drinks and entertainment, the usual Paris range is between 80 and 150 euros per guest.
When should you book a venue for a winter party?
For a January date, send your request in November, before December schedules lock everyone up. For February, December is usually enough. Thursdays remain the most requested nights, a Tuesday or a Wednesday is easier to negotiate.
Can you hold a winter party outdoors in Paris?
It is risky. An open rooftop or an unheated terrace drives guests away after half an hour in January. If you want some outdoor feel, look for a covered, heated space, such as La Péniche’s covered deck or the Winter Chalet patio at Kimpton St Honoré, or keep the outdoors for the welcome only.
